Aesopus. Aesopi Phrygis Fabellae graece et latine, cum aliis opusculis, quorum index proxima refertur pagella, Venice, Giovanni Farri & fratres, 1542.
The first edition of Aesopus’ Fabulae was issued in about 1478, printed in Milan by Demetrios Damilas most probably, in the framework of the operation of the school of the Bonus Accursius. It also comprises the Latin translation by Rinucius Thettalus. Of the multiple incunable editions –more than 161– the first in Latin of the Fabulae will be mentioned here, printed in Venice in about 1470, with the translation by Omnibonus Leonicenus. This edition by Farri comprises other writings and essays such as the Batrachomyomachia, Καθ’ Ἠρὼ καὶ Λέανδρον by Mousaios and the reprint of the Galeomyomachia, issued from Alduss’ workshop, edited by Arsenios Apostoles in about 1495.
