Gregorius Nazianzenus. [Carmina]..., Venice, Aldus Manutius, 1504.
First edition of the poetry of Gregorios Nazianzus with its Latin translation, a book dedicated by Aldus to Princess Isabella d’Este of Mantua. This book is the last of a three-volume edition under the title Poetae christiani veteres, of which two volumes were issued in 1502. Aldus made the Greek and Latin texts to constitute separate books. In the edition’s Index, Aldus informs the reader that he intends to publish the Latin translation of the Nonnus Panopolita in Joannem, the Greek edition of which had been printed three years earlier.
