First and unique edition of the compilation under the title Γέρας εἰ μ’ ὀνομάσειας σπάνιον, collected by the secondary school teacher and old colleague of Aldus’s, Arsenios Apostoles (1465-1535). It is a compilation of writings by philosophers, orators, poets and historians. The edition opens with a witty dialogue among three persons, evidently written by Apostoles: Τὰ τοῦ διαλόγου πρόσωπα: Φιλομαθής, Βιβλιοπώλης, Βίβλος (introduction by Philomathes). A similar Dialogue is found in the first edition of the Souda, written by Stephano Mela (Stephano Negri), see No. 9.
