The first integral and dated edition of Hesiod’s Ἔργα καὶ Ἡμέρες (Works and Days), printed in 1507 in Paris by G. De Gourmont. It has since been reprinted many times, integrally or not, with editing by renowned literary scholars of the North such as Philippos Melanchthon (1534). Trincavelli’s edition is the first to be printed in Italy in the sixteenth century, while the work had been issued by Aldus in a volume of miscellany with diverse poems by Theocritus, Theognis, Bion, Moschos et al (1496).
