Ἀπολλόδωρος. Apollodori Atheniensis Bibliotheces... Benedicto Aegio Spoletino Interprete..., Rome, Antonio Blado, 1555.
The Apollodorus who composed the Bibliotheces must not be confused with the Athenian grammarian who lived in the second century bc; the writer of the present volume lived in the first century ad. This text is a mythological review of the genealogy of the gods and heroes, beginning with Uranus and Gaia. Blado’s editio princeps was printed with the Greek characters he had acquired on the occasion of the edition of the Parekvoles in Eustathius’s Homer.
