Lycophron. Annotattiones, necnon Epitome Cassandrae Graecolatina, carmine Anacreontio..., Geneva, Paul Stephano
The first edition of the Alexandra was comprised in the editio princeps of Pindar’s Odes by Aldus in 1513. This poem, enigmatic and full of innuendo greatly occupied men of letters and philologists as it contained a wealth of information obtained by Lykophron in the years when he worked in the library of the Ptolemies in Alexandria (3rd c bc). Stephanos’s edition contains commentaries by Ioannis Tzetzes, significantly complemented in relation to prior editions.
