This edition, together with that of Euripides (1602) are considered to be the major printing achievements of Paul Stephanos. It is not a reprint of the 1568 edition and is an improved version with commentaries by Camerarius, comprising unpublished notes by Henry Stephanos and accompanied by a Latin translation in full of all seven tragedies by Vitus Winsemius (Veit Oertel).
