The New History by Zosimos (5th-6th century ad) was first issued integrally by two printers in the same year, 1679: by Fr. Sylburgius with the Latin translation and commentary by J. Leunclavius and by the Teatro Sheldoniano edited by Th. Parkes. The Latin translation of the History, recording events from the time of Augustus up to the days of Theodosius II had been in circulation from 1571.
