Nikolaos Karamsinos.
Vernardakes (1833-1907) made his first appearance in letters with his Graomyomachia (a short hero-comic epic). Due to his character he clashed with Koumanoudes, Asopios and others, triggering many literary disputes. He was a professor at Athens University from 1861, at the same time writing and translating a variety of works. This translation by Vernardakes was printed at the press of Pantelis K Pantelis, who initiated his relation to printing with the issue of a newspaper in Hydra in 1829 (Anexartetos Ephemeris tis Ellados) with a circulation in Aegina also.
