First and unique edition representative of one of Nicodemus Metaxas’s most adventurous publishing-printing ventures as well as of Greek printing in general. The edition is part of Metaxas’s efforts to found a printing workshop in Constantinople in the days of Cyril’s patriarchate. This particular book was printed by Metaxas in London, at William Jones’s press with his characteristic mark, at the time when, as a prospective printer, Metaxas was collecting experience and material for his future plans.
