Louis Maimbourg. Histoire du Schisme des Grecs..., vol. I-II, Paris, 1682
The first edition was printed in Paris, once more in 1678 and the present one coincides with another from an Amsterdam press. Maimbourg (1610-1686) was a renowned representative of French intellectuals, studied theology in Rome and for many years taught at Rouen’s Jesuit College, subsequently preaching in many parts of France. At the age of fifty he began publishing a series of treatises and a study of an historical and theological nature, met with great response by the public.
