First and only edition treating and refuting the theological positions and dogma of the Catholics and the methods they employ in their proselytizing and political propaganda. Maximos was born in the Peloponnese and succeeded Raphael on the patriarchal throne, his knowledge of theology was acknowledged and in fact the Sultan himself requested of him a written exegesis of the Symbol of Faith (Creed), with which Maximos complied.
