Second edition, the first dating to 1746, of the work by Thomas à Kempis (circa 1380-1471), who joined the Brethren of the Common Life and was a follower of G. Groote’s. The author, the book and the Dominican translator from Chios are mentioned in the first edition of the translation (1746): Kempis-De Imitatione Christi ab A.R.P.M. Fr. Petro Martyre Calomati, Chio Ord.8 Praed.m Graecé editus.
