[Polyzoes Kontos]. Νεκρικοὶ Διάλογοι Ι´... part πρῶτον. Ἐν Ἅδου... 5793... [Vienna, 1793].
First and sole edition of the Nekrikoi Dialogi, written by Polyzoes Kontos, a priest and teacher born in Ioannina where he most probably went to school before settling in Venice, continuing his studies in the French and Italian languages. He then travelled to various cities such as Vienna, Pest, Paris and London, teaching and writing poetry. In his verse, Kontos fulminates against the French Revolution, sets out the new ideas of his period and records the stance of the Catholic Church towards them. This work is part of a longer poem, whose second part was never published. The book was printed without mention of place nor printer and with a misleading date of issue (5793); it was however printed in Vienna by Georgios Vendotis, in 1793.
