Xenophon from Ephesus. Antonio Salvini..., Vienna [Georgios Vendotis], 1793.
First edition of this version in the Koine language: the editio princeps was printed in 1722 in London. It is the sole surviving writing by Xenophon from Ephesus, who lived in the second or third century ad and it is not excluded that this text constitutes an abridgement of the original. The edition is not based on the original Greek work but on the Italian translation by Antonio Salvini and, three years later, in 1796, the brothers Pouliou circulated a Greco-Latin edition of this work of fiction.
