The Antipelargesis or Sylloge ton sozomenon deals with the solution of the Delian problem and was written by K. Balanos in support of the solution given by his father Balanos Basilopoulos, which had been placed in doubt also by Eugenios Bulgaris amongst others. Kosmas Balanos (1731-1808) was born in Ioannina and learned his first letters next to his father. He was headmaster and first bursar of Ioannina’s Prote Schole (First School).
