J.-J. Barthélemy. I-V, VII, 1819.
The first Greek edition of the Neos Anacharsis dates to 1797, translated by Georgios K. Sakellarios and Rigas. The first edition of the French original was printed in 1788 by de Bure in Paris and was frequently reprinted, complemented with maps and illustrated, as well as circulating in new editions also in diverse European languages. It is the first in every way successful and bibliophile effort to popularize Greek antiquity, which at the same time played an important role in the evolution of neo-Classicism and the Philhellene sentiments of the French, besides much more.
