It seems that Koumas’s Geography was found among his unpublished residual effects, since its first volume circulated two years after his death. The translation was made on the French original Abregé de Georgaphie redigee sur un nouveau plan by A. Balbi (1782-1848), a renowned geographer from Venice, who finished his treatise during his sty in Paris in 1832: an edition that in 1,392 pages comprised the entire science of geography.
