Xenophon. [Ἔργα], Florence, Filippo Giunta, 1516.
First edition containing the Apanta by Xenophon and the starting-point for many reprints of his complete works as well as separate integral editions. This edition, however, albeit an editio princeps, was not acclaimed by the scholarly public and did not of course pass through the hands of Mousouros, who was collaborating with the Giunti until 1515. A comprehensive literary overview was carried out by Andrea d’Asola on the second edition in 1525, complementing it with unpublished texts and at the same time correcting errors and omissions. Based on Aldus’s rival edition a year later, the Giuntis reprinted Xenophon’s Apanta.
