Pausanias. Παυσανίου τῆς Ἑλλάδος περιήγησις... A Guilielmo Xylandro Augustano..., Hanover, Typis Wechelianis, apud haeredes Claudii Marnii, 1613.
Second German edition of Pausanias’s ‘Hellados Periegesis’, following the first printed in Frankfurt in 1583 (editio princeps, Aldus Manutius, Venice 1516). The book was edited by the famous Hellenist Wilhelm Holtzmann, who Hellenized his name to Xylander. He held the Heidelberg chair of Greek, whence he taught, and published writings by Plutarch, Strabo, Euclid et al. Xylander did not finish the publication of Pausanias except for the first five volumes and the work was carried on by Fr. Sylburgius in 1583.
