First edition of the surviving work by the emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus who was a prolific writer with manifold interests. The prevailing entitlement of his principal work is Excerpta (‘Eclogae apospasmaton’). It is an anthology of texts by thematic entities composing 53 hypotheses, of which one entire and excerpts have survived.
