The first edition was printed by Aldus in 1495 with the Idylls of Theocritus et al. However, the Florentine edition does not only contain the Greek and Latin translation texts but also for the first time the metrical Italian version by Ang. Maria Bandini (1726-1800), head of the Laurentian Library at that time,
