The Practike Arithmetiki was first printed in Venice in 1568 and frequently reprinted. It was composed by Emmanuel Glyzounis (†1596) who edited numerous publications, liturgical books among them such as Menaia, Psalters et al. For account of King Philip of Spain (1527-1598), Glyzounis undertook to collect Greek manuscripts for the enrichment of the king’s library, as witnessed from his will.
