John Patousas. Ἐγκυκλοπαιδεία Φιλολογικὴ..., vols. ΙΙ, IV, Venice, Nikolaos Saros, 1710
First edition of the Encyclopaedia, an anthology of various works meant as teaching aids by Greek writers that were inaccessible to most pupils, also for financial reasons. It was widely used in Greek schools up to the Revolution. Patousas (1677-1712) was born in Athens, studied in Padua and was headmaster of the Flaggenian School.
