The first newspaper in print to be published in a free Greek area, whose purpose was to inform on the course of the War of Liberation. Only three sheets of the Salpinx were printed, though the editor Theoklitos Pharmakides came to a rift with the representative of the Authority Dimitrios Ypsilantis in regard to issues of freedom of the Press.
