Eusebius Pamphilus. Εὐαγγελικὴ Προπαρασκευή, Paris, Robert Stephanos, 1544.
First edition of the Evangelike Proparaskeve, also printed – as was the Ecclesiastike Historia – in the font known as Grecs du Roi. Eusebius, bishop of Caesarea (about 270 - about 338), was co-writer of the Proparaskeve, following along the lines of the Christian Apologists such as Saint Justin and Athenagoras, that is to say beginning his exposé by pointing out the religious absurdities of idolaters.
