First edition of Robert Stefanos’s Kaine Diatheke and the first Greek book printed in the second font family of Garamont (Grecs du Roi). This edition, and the second of 1549, are known as Omirificam, a name corresponding to the opening words of Stefanos addressing François I in an attempt to ensure financial support for the new family of Greek characters upon which to found his ‘pocket’ editions.
