Second edition – with first dated 1559 – by G. Morel in Paris. Makarios, the Great, the Ancient, the Egyptian, submitted himself to such deprivations from the age of thirty onward that he was called ‘paedoriogeron’ (child-old man). Works such as Homiliae pneumatikai and many others: Peri phylakes kardias, Peri proseuches etc. are erroneously attributed to him.
