First edition of the work of Philostorgios, an ecclesiastical historian of the fourth and fifth century who, similarly to Theodoretos continued Eusebius’s Ecclesiastic History from 425 on. His History is a treatise bristling with eschatological innuendo, through which he tried to find explanations for the conquest of Rome by the Visigoths in 410.
