Fourth edition (the first is Leipzig’s of 1718) of the anti-papal treatise written by Meniatis as bishop of Kernike and Kalavryta in which he clarifies the real differences leading to the Schism and the discord between the two Churches. Meniatis (1669-1714) from Lixouri, Kefallonia, known from his much-published work Didachai eis tin Megalin Tessarakostin (1716), acquired profound scholarship in Greek and Latin literature, philosophy and theology, and began his teaching career in Venice at an early date, evolving into a significant figure in the letters of his day.
