First edition of the book named Paradisos containing Lives of the Saints culled from the books of Simeon Metafrastes (the Translator). The Lives were rendered by Agapios Landos in the vernacular, in which is included all his knowledge (of Greek, Italian, Arabic) to use systematically, in translating books for the salvation of the soul into Greek as spoken, which he promoted to Venice’s Greek printing presses. His books were favourite reading matter for the Greek faithful for at least two centuries.
