Plato, Metropolitan of Moscow.
The Orthodoxos Didaskalia was printed three times in a period of two years: Leipzig, 1782, Vienna 1782 and 1783. It was written by Platon, Archbishop of Moscow, with the intention to catechise his pupil Paul Petrovitch, Grand Duke of Muscovy and heir to the throne. The publisher P. Lambanitziotes in his prologue testifies to the eventful discovery of the manuscript, in a Hungarian town he does not name.
