First and only edition of this school manual with no particular pretensions. Its popularized character has a view to the ‘enlightening’ of Greeks. The foreword to the Apanthisma addressing the reader reveals the dolour of Rigas for the plight of the Greek people, “they who are abandoned to illiteracy who are the descendants of Aristotle and Plato”. Rigas drew the original material for the work from the Encyclopédie (Paris, 1751).
