The historian Zosimus lived in the 5thand 6thcenturies. He held a high position in the court of Theodosius II and composed a history of the Roman empire from the era of Augustus onwards, in six books titled Historia Nova. This is the third edition of the book, which was first published in 1581 and republished in 1611 and 1625.
