Aristophanes, Ἀριστοφάνους κωμωδίαι ἐννέα --- Aristophanis Comoediae novem ---, Basel, Io Frobenium, 1547.
The first edition of this work was edited by Marcus Musurus and published by the press of Aldus Manutius, in 1498. It included only nine of the surviving Comedies of Aristophanes while the Commentaries accompanying the edition were collected from a number of manuscripts. This edition by Sigismund Gelenius (c. 1498-1554) is comprised of all the eleven extant comedies of Aristophanes, as the publisher added Lysistrata and Thesmophoriazusae, which had also been edited by Musurus and printed by the house of Giunti in Florence in 1515. Selenius had settled in Basel in 1542, and worked with printer Johann Froben until the end of his life.
