MAUCLAIR, Camille. Athènes Trente planches en couleur d’après les tableaux de Paul Bret. Paris: Henri Laurens, 1935.
First edition, second issue. The title page dates from 1935 but the colophon bears the date 1946. The charming engravings are the work of Paul Bret (1902-1956) and show views of Eleusis, Aegina, Myconos and Megara (including the Trata dance, traditionally performed the first Tuesday after Easter). Mauclair, an art critic, included similar views in his works on Bruges, Bretagne etc. He is also the author of Le Pur Visage de La Grèce (1934), and De Jerusalem à Istanbul (1939).
