This is an edition by Student, with an introduction by W.H.D Rouse. The first edition was published in the same year, without Rouse's introduction. The only difference between the editions lies in the typeface. The book is not numbered: it is comprised of 160 pages, divided into forty sections of four pages each, organized thus: Title page, Text, Illustration, and the fourth page left blank. It is dedicated to R. M. Dawkins, later director of the British school in Athens.
